It's been a while

I haven't blogged in a while!! I've had so much to do, so I will try my best to put up a new post as soon as I can.... I will most likely update the blog much more often during the summer.  I will also have a post about the Don Quixote Ballet performance I went to on March 10th, but I have an exam in April so I'll definitely be back in May :)

Healthy Pasta dish with Turkey meatballs

This is what I made for dinner a few days ago... I didn't really get the recipe from anywhere, I just made it up myself! It is very filling too since I used whole wheat pasta... I was so full after eating one bowl of it.

Ingredients:

For the meatballs:
- 450 g ground turkey meat
- 1 egg
- palmful of breadcrumbs (around 1/4 cup)
- a pinch of dried oregano
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 spring onions (or 1 medium white onion) chopped
- grated cheddar cheese (amount depends on how much you like)
- salt & pepper
- 2 tsp paprika powder
- ketchup (optional)

For the pasta:
- whole wheat pasta
- spinach leaves

1.  Preheat oven to 375 deg F
2. Combine all ingredients together for turkey meatballs
3. Roll mixture into small round balls and place them on a foil lined baking sheet
4. Place in oven to bake for 20-25 mins
5. For pasta, salt some boiling water in a pot and add the whole wheat pasta
5. Cook until al dente (or until desired tenderness is almost reached)
6.  Add washed spinach leaves to the boiling pasta towards the end so it wilts, but doesn't cook down too much.
7. Drain pasta
8. Serve in a dish and splash some olive oil and lemond juice over top
9. Add turkey meatballs on top at the end

The Green Hornet

So I went to see the Green Hornet today in 3D, since they didn't have a regular showing.  I thought it was an entertaining action movie and fun to ; it would be most popular with teenagers, I would think, since it has the over-the-top action scenes and slow motion martial arts stunts .

The Green Hornet stars Seth Rogan as Britt Reid, Jay Chou as his partner Kato, and Cameron Diaz as Reid's assistant .  The storyline wasn't very original,  but the movie as a whole was very entertaining especially if you like Seth Rogan's humour and his bumbling personality.... and his assistant Kato was very good too !  I would have liked to see more of him!

Brief plot: After his father's death, Britt Reid inherits his dad's newspaper company which he doesn't want to run and doesn't care about it.  After meeting his late father's mechanic, Kato, they both become friends and decide to form a team (since Reid is very intelligent and Kato is an experted engineer and martial artist, but both haven't been living up to their potential).  They decide to fight crime, by pretending to be villains and put a stop to the city's criminals.

I give this movie : 7/10

You may have noticed that I've been changing the appearance of the blog often.... that's because I was still unsure about the colour schemes, images, layout, etc.... so I thought why don't I just use my favourite colours, turquoise & purples! I think I've finally decided on one look that I'll stick with (hopefully!).

Anyway, do you like this layout?

The Dubai water fountain (Video)

I forgot that I had taken this video when we were in Dubai! We went to have dinner at a lebanese restaurant in Dubai Mall and we were seated outside on the patio, with the world's tallest tower "Burj Khalifa" on our right, the water fountain in front of us, and the rest of the buildings which make up Dubai Mall on our left! The weather was so nice; a little breezy which meant you needed to wear a jacket.

The fountain was scheduled every half hour, and lasted 5-10 minutes. Every half hour the fountain would put on a different 'dance' with accompanying music... including 'Time to Say Goodbye', an Arabic melody, and Michael Jackson's Thriller (which I missed!! :[ )

Anyway, here's the video I took (it's in 2 parts because the first memory card ran out of space, so I had to switch it) ... I'm not sure what music it is, but it sounds like something from Indiana Jones lol ... Enjoy!
